KOTA KINABALU, SABAH – To celebrate the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, Hyatt Regency Kinabalu hosted an annual breaking of fast dinner for children from Madrasah Tahfiz Darul Hikmah, Kg Delima Melayu Sepanggar yesterday evening.
The memorable event was attended by the hotel’s owning company Sabah Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) and Kinabalu International Hotel Board of Directors. Hyatt Regency Kinabalu also shared the harmonious breaking of fast meal with some 30 staffs from all departments of the hotel and media to spread the festive cheers to the children of Madrasah Tahfiz Darul Hikmah.

Over 30 children of Darul Hikmah aged 9 to 17 were treated to the sumptuous buka puasa buffet at Tanjung Ria Kitchen featuring an astounding array and varieties of traditional breaking-fast fare and international favorites including hotel’s signature oxtail assam pedas. The Indian delight of Naan and Tandoori, oven baked cheese filled flatbread and meat roasted in a special clay oven.
Local favourite desserts like shaved ice (Ice Kacang) are also available to quench the thirsts. There are 6 show stations in Tanjung Ria Kitchen offering live cooking stations including western cuisines like roast lamb and beef burger, in addition to stations that feature local delicacies, such as the well-loved satay, skewered meat grilled and served with peanut sauce, and pulut panggang, glutinous rice grilled in banana leaves.
