Tiffin Throwdown is back, and it’s all about the hottest Hawaiian trend in town: poke bowls! Urbanscapes is pitting the city’s best poke bowl vendors against one another, and attendees get to be the judge on which poke bowl they think is best. That’s not all – vendors will also need to win the hearts (and stomachs) of our panel of judges: Cecilia Yong, Ili Sulaiman,JayDee Lok, and Jeremy Teo; the winners of Judges’ Prize and Public’s Choice will walk away with RM3,000 respectively. Plus: Tall, dark, and comedian Kuah Jenhan emcees, and hosts an all-special MasterChef Apprentice workshop.

Thought of the day-“What is happening to our young people? They disrespect their elders, they disobey their parents. They ignore the law. They riot in the streets inflamed with wild notions. Their morals are decaying. What is to become of them?”-Socrates

If only Socrates knew that thousand miles from Athens, there was this Odu Gerawang who cursed her son and the entire ship into a big stone (an Island that is), perhaps Socrates will be amazed. This is a story about The Legend Of Supirak, known to many at Malubang, Pitas. Today, Malubang is still a small village but it has an interesting story to tell to the world. It is a legend but somehow the ‘leftovers’ indicates that it’s a true story. Believe it or not, there are so many freaky things around the place that resembles the unfortunate event. The story of a son who disowned his own mother and that the mother’s prayer was ‘answered’. Perfect theme for Sabah Fest 2017, to be presented in a Musical Theater from 5-7 May, 2017.

Part 3: Reaching the finishing point & Finale

“Ends are not bad things, they just mean that something else is about to begin. And there are many things that don’t really end, anyway, they just begin again in a new way. Ends are not bad and many ends aren’t really an ending; some things are never-ending.”

Part 2: Warm up & Flag Off (To read Part 1, click HERE)

When Kota Kinabalu City Mayor, Datuk Yeo Boon Hai, flagged off the run, that very second, front line runners sprinted like never before, followed by some happy go lucky runners. While most started walking after running about 500 meters, serious runners reached the main junction going out of the Sutera Harbour mammoth complex in just under 15 minutes. Kids, elders, moms, dads, the singles were all on the street trying their very best to finish the run. It was not about winning. It is about supporting the Special Olympics Sabah and Sabah Thalassaemia Society and at the same time running for fun and healthier lifestyle. Yup, some managed to get new friends, tagging people while doing the run.
