A Whole Day of Exciting of Foods Pop Ups,Karipap and Kuih Masterclasses happening on 20 October 2019 in Cyberjaya

FriedChillies, the people behind the wildly popular food events such as I Eat Nasi Lemak and Ayam Lejen is back with another exciting food event called Cyberjaya Makan Best Fest 2019 (CMBF2019).
On 20 October 2019, for one day only the TOP Food Pop Ups, best Kuih Lejen and Karipap Heroes in Klang Valley will be at Rekascape Cyberjaya. Admission is FREE and the event will run from 10am to 8pm.

Among the food pop ups to look forward to are Pastribella owned by
Masterchef Season One champion Dr. Ezani, unique pizzas by myPizzaLab,
the legendary Nasi Lemak Angah from Jalan Ipoh and tasty beef briskets by
Beard Brothers BBQ.

Karipap lovers too are in for a treat, as CMBF2019’s line-up of Karipap Heroes will make your mouth water. From Karipap Mutiara that will be coming all the way from Penang (get ready for their Karipap Rusa) to Karipap King Kong with their humongous chicken and beef karipaps. FriedChillies will also be inviting their latest discovery Karipap Satay Ayam Mama from Kajang that fills their delicious pastry with juicy satay.

Another highlight will be the Kuih Lejen component. Kuih veterans like Mak Jah and La Cucur will be bringing their top-line array of kuih to the event as well as newcomers Mok Teh (East Coast kuih) and Apom Johol from Negeri Sembilan. There will also be FREE kuih Masterclasses (including a fun kid’s masterclass) all day where event goers can learn how to make kuih from scratch.

“This kuih component is a culmination of our food heritage project with Yayasan Hasanah. Called Projek KWIH we’ve been collecting kuih recipes and petua (tips) from all over Peninsular Malaysia for over two years. The best way to conserve our kuih heritage is to get hands on via sharing sessions. This is why we are really excited for these Masterclasses”, adds Honey Ahmad, project director of Projek KWIH. “We will also be launching our Projek KWIH books druing the event. Our books are not just recipe books but also full of human stories and extra cooking tips. Each kuih recipe are also tried and tested in the FriedChillies test kitchen so you can easily make it at home with mind blowing results.”

And there’s more. A specially moderated Bizniz Talk track will be happening on the day. Food entrepreneur hopefuls and start-ups can listen to talks and case studies from successful food business founders and, branding insights from Rekanegara, branding gurus with experiences working with Coca-cola and Malaysia Airlines.

“There’s something for everybody at the CMBF2019. If you are a foodie, this
is THE event for you. And if you’re not, it’s just a great way to spend the weekend and learn new things. All you need is to skip breakfast and bring your curiousity. We will take care of the rest,” smiles Adly Rizal.

FriedChillies has been curating food content since 1997. They started out with friedchillies.com their flagship website that does food reviews and recipes. The website then expanded into a media ecosystem with food shows, digital and on-ground food campaigns as well as food events.
