Tickets are now available for the Australian premiere exhibition of STAR WARS Identities™,opening at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney this November.

The unique experience uses technology and expertise in the fields of neuropsychology, psychology, and biochemistry, interwoven with a collection of over 200 original artefacts, costumes, and props from the Lucasfilm archives, to lead visitors on a personal Identity Quest. Visitors will answer interactive questions throughout the exhibit to create their own Star Wars-inspired character.

Working with the Montréal Science Centre and a committee of scientific advisors, exhibition developers of STAR WARS Identities divided the study of identity into three major themes: the origins of the characters, the influences that shape them, and the choices they make during their life. Within these three themes, ten components of human identity are explored: species, genes, parents, culture, mentors, friends, marking events, occupation, personality, and values.

Will your choices lead you on a path to the light side or the dark side of the Force? Do your skills make you a better Stormtrooper or Resistance Pilot?

Museum of Arts and Applied Sciences (MAAS) Director of Curatorial, Collections and Exhibitions, Peter Denham said the exhibition is an opportunity to delve beyond the films and memorabilia.

“STAR WARS Identities will offer families an opportunity to share their love of the film series with a new generation of fans through a fun, interactive exhibition experience. MAAS is looking forward to welcoming audiences to an exhibition that celebrates one of our core focuses – the intersection of imagination and technology – through the iconic popular culture phenomenon of Star Wars,” Mr Denham said.

Developed and produced by X3 Productions in collaboration with Lucasfilm Ltd, the exhibition has been secured exclusively for Sydney by the NSW Government via its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW, in partnership with the Museum of Arts and Applied Sciences (MAAS).
