Emperor Cinemas will host a year-end celebration of Green & Glam Monégasque film and culture

Following the success of Asia’s first Monaco Film Festival held in Singapore last year, the Monaco Government Tourist and Convention Authority has chosen the thriving city of Hong Kong for its 2018 edition. The Principality of Monaco will welcome festival-goers in a year end cinematic celebration of the city-state’s notorious glamour, rich history and stunning Mediterranean landscapes from 1 to 16 December 2018 at Emperor Cinemas (Entertainment Building), with fringe events including exhibitions, galas and parties planned around the city.

In line with Visit Monaco’s “Green is the new Glam” campaign—which reflects the Principality’s commitment to become fully carbon neutral by 2050—Monaco Film Festival will work with partners and sponsors that promote sustainability in Hong Kong and beyond.

“We chose Hong Kong for our sophomore film festival in Asia as we find there to be several key qualities that both destinations have in common, from being beacons of innovation and reinvention in their respective geographical regions to achieving high levels of infrastructures and services in a constrained environment,” said Benoit Badufle, Managing Director of Monaco Government Tourism Bureau Asia Office. “Through the timeless and unifying medium of film, we hope to evoke a renewed fascination with Monaco among Asian audiences.”
