Adya Hotel is our preferred budget-hotel in Kuala Lumpur City

There are times when we all do need to stay in a budget Hotel. What if you are soon to visit Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia? Fret not as there are quiet a number of good budget hotels in Kuala Lumpur. However, which one is actually the best of the best for your next visit? Introducing Adya Hotel, wholly owned by Permodalan Kedah Berhad. Adya Hotel is our best recommendation for travelers seeking for the best budget hotel in Kuala Lumpur. We stayed here recently and here are 10 reasons why you should choose this hotel over the other budget Hotels in Kuala Lumpur city.

1-Affordable Room Rates

We all obviously wish to pay the cheapest room rate but with satisfactory room’s condition. Room rates at Adya Kuala Lumpur starts from RM90 for lowest category with the highest category is of RM160. While there are plenty of third-party booking engines for hotels are available, we recommend that you call the hotel directly to check out their best offer or current promotion rate.

2-Wide range selection of room categories

Guests may choose from Single Room, Standard Room (Queen or Twin Bed), Deluxe Room (King or Twin Bed) and Family Room (King + Single Bed). Best of all, each category comes with affordable rate as mentioned earlier. Rooms are of descent size, great enough for a budget hotel standard.

While the size of each room category might not be that spacious as in high-end hotel, one need to realize that this is a budget hotel. Some rooms comes with magnificent view, so do ask for more information when making a reservation. Due to the structure of the building, some rooms are with No Window, so when making reservations, you need to be specific in what you need.

3- Friendly staff at Adya Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Based on our recent experience staying at Adya Hotel Kuala Lumpur, the staff were amazingly friendly, cheerful, attentive and helpful. They’re pretty well-trained to handle all related issues. Since Adya Hotel is a Shariah-Compliant brand, staff will greet all guests ‘Assalamualaikum‘; a common greeting among Muslims that literally means ‘Peace be with you’.

4-Detailed Amenities in each room

When staying at budget hotels, we get what we paid for. Expect to have the least amenities and that repeat calls to the Housekeeping Department, begging for things while they take the whole day just to send the items that you need. Well, not at Adya Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

Though it is a budget hotel, the management put customers first and they provide all that detailed amenities in the room, even when you don’t ask for. In each room, there is iron and board, Sejadah or prayer mat (For Muslim Guests), safe box, coffee/tea making facility, flat-screen TV, proper working desk, things that collectively, you won’t be able to find in other budget hotels.

5-Nearby to LRT Masjid Jamek

Adya Hotel is located in within walking distance from LRT Masjid Jamek. Being extremely close to Public Transportation (LRT) is crucial in giving you an easy access to all parts in Kuala Lumpur City.

Getting to Adya Hotel is easy. From Masjid Jamek LRT Station, walk straight passing by the edge of Masjid India Bazaar till you reach the end of Jalan  Melayu. Adya Hotel Kuala Lumpur is on the right side of the arch.

Most guests opting to stay nearby to Masjid India are looking forward to visit and shop at Masjid India Bazaar. First timers to this area may find that Adya Hotel is conveniently located just next to Masjid India Bazaar. One can reach this area in less than 2 minutes.

Various items from souvenirs to daily needs and even delicious street food are available at Masjid India Bazaar as well as at its surrounding areas. It will be fun to try your luck in negotiating prices for some items!

Apart from the Bazaar, there are several well-known supermarkets such as Mydin, a popular brand among the locals. There is also a food court nearby, selling delicious local foods that operates till late at night. Convenience stores are abundant here as well as major banks.

7-Weekend Market

Every Saturday, from morning to late at night, there will be a weekend market where various items are being sold. For foodies, it is a great place to try out the local and fusion street foods. For souvenir hunters, this place is heaven.

Walk further and you will be surprised to know that the Weekend Market is kind of endless as it has many turns here and there. Even if you don’t buy a thing, it is still fun to see the crowd, the products and just everything.

We went to this weekend market recently and we were lucky enough to be here as  it’s Durian season and we’re actually craving for Durian and Durian Cendol Pulut! Well, we had a feast of Durian as well as some other foods. Even when Durian is not in season, this Weekend Market is indeed a place for true foodies!

8-Located along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman

Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman is well-known for shopping, clothes and business. Sogo Shopping Complex is located not that far from Adya Hotel, one may get there in just about 5-8 minutes walk. For the adventurous, venture up to Chow Kit area to see the local market, just walk up north along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman.

We did walk up to Chow Kit area and along the way we found this Malaysia-Thailand Food Fair, held under big tent with clothes stalls around.  We spent some time here, eating all our favorite Malay-Thai Foods! If your feet gets you to Chow Kit Monorail Station, no need to walk back to Masjid India. Simply ride on the Monorail to Medan Tuanku Station, where Masjid India is not that far from the station.

9-Located next to Masjid India (Mosque)

For the benefit of Muslim guests, Masjid India is just next to Adya Hotel and it enables them to perform daily prayers with others (congregational prayer). Alternatively, Masjid Jamek or Sultan Abdul Samad Jamek Mosque is nearby (next to Masjid Jamek LRT).

10-Short walk to Central Market

Central Market is indeed popular among visitors to Kuala Lumpur City and this interesting landmark is located about 10-15 minutes walk from Adya Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

Venture a little bit further and you will find that Petaling Street (China Town) is not that far after all. Too tired to walk back to the hotel? Fret not, the LRT from Plaza Rakyat which is near to Petaling Street will get you back to Masjid Jamek LRT Station.

Our Thoughts

Yes, it is not a lavish hotel as Adya Hotel Kuala Lumpur is a budget hotel. However, for the location and price factors, we have to say that this is indeed the best hotel in its category. It is located in that very strategic spot, with easy access to places that we need to go. We’re in Kuala Lumpur and not in a paradise having vacation, there was no need  for us to stay in our room for 24 hours. What we really need; a room that’s perfectly functional and with reasonable price.

We needed a room with adequate space for both of us, comfortable bed and most important, it’s air-conditioned. We needed a room that is immaculate, has a proper working desk for us to work, bathroom that is fully functional with hot shower, clean towels, clean bed sheet and just everything that travelers need. Adya Hotel Kuala Lumpur provide all of that.

The room that we stayed in has an amazing view and we just love looking at it again and again. The hotel has no cafe but who cares as there are lots of eateries located outside complete with endless number of convenience stores. Next time you are in Kuala Lumpur and if you are looking for a budget hotel that has detailed amenities, look no further as Adya Hotel Kuala Lumpur is the perfect choice, the best budget hotel in Kuala Lumpur City!
