KOTA KINABALU (1 DECEMBER 2017) – Hyatt Regency Kinabalu hosted its Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in the hotel lounge on 1 December 2017 to usher in the festive and joyful holiday season. Hyatt Regency Kinabalu unveiled its eco-friendly Christmas 2017 theme during the Christmas lighting ceremony last night with a 13-foot Christmas tree made from collections of wooden pallets. Restaurant diners, in-house guests and media friends were in attendance to witness the joyous lighting ceremony. A warm cranberry cinnamon scent greeted the guests upon entering the hotel, carrying them away into the joyous Christmas spirit.

In their continuous effort to conserve the environment, recycled materials such as bottles, driftwood and wooden pallets were used as the main materials for Christmas decorations this year. It was an environment-friendly initiative of the hotel towards nature conservation.

“Christmas is the last festive season of the year and I am happy to share this wonderful moment with our guests, media friends and the hotel staff. In conjunction with of our continuous effort towards preserving nature, I would like to present you with our Eco-Friendly Christmas as this this year’s theme as a reminder to be more mindful towards Mother Earth”, said Mr Thor Gervasi, the General Manager of Hyatt Regency Kinabalu.

The 13-foot Christmas tree was decorated with potted poinsettia flowers and golden pothos plants and low-wattage light that complements the contemporary rustic ambience that perfectly fits the theme at The Lounge. The hotel also showcased a fireplace with recycled wood decorated with candles, ornaments, pine cones and green plants. Speaking of fireplace, you may find the best electric fireplace that will make guest rooms and outdoor activities more decorative.
